During the summer, I joined 5 Minutes for Moms to tackle one big organizational project a week. It was manageable, and making myself blog about the project every week, made me accountable and I was able to accomplish many projects this summer, including cleaning out the garage and redecorating my little girls’ room.
Large and small, here are the projects I tackled this summer:
Recently, I blogged about my mega migraine which lasted ten days, and many of you suggested I make an appointment to see a doctor, which got me thinking when was the last time I saw my doctor?
Or when was the last thing I went to the OB/GYN, the dentist, or the eye doctor? For that matter, when is the last time, I finished a novel, had a cup of coffee with a friend, or went shopping for myself?
Now, some of these things I used to do for myself are out of the picture, like having my hair professionally colored, or a pedicure. Those things are a thing of the past, and I am at peace with now. I made a decision to stay home with my children, so that high priced salon at the beach is a place I won’t see for a very long time. It is not that season in my life right now, and that’s okay. However, there are many things I can do, and I am going to try to do one a week for ME.
So, what is my challenge for this week? I am creating a list of things I have needed or wanted to do for myself, but have not taken the time to do so. Check back with me next week for my list!
Check out 5 Minutes for Moms, they have a great post on setting up a gratitude journal, maybe something I need to put on my list?
How about you?
