Last week I mentioned our exciting nature hike with Gram which included an encounter with a snake, here are some photos of the day:

The girls with their Gram, they really enjoyed the day! Thank you!
Reflection for the weekend:
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him." (John 3:16-17)
This summer as I ponder the Gospel of John, I have been practicing Lectio Divina, a prayerful approach to the Scriptures. Fr. L. Dysinger, OSB describes Lectio Divina in this way:
I have also been comtemplating this prayer written by Origen (ca 185-254 A.D.):
Knowledge of Scripture
"Lord, inspire us to read your Scriptures and to mediate upon them day and night. We beg You to give us real understanding of what we need, that we in turn may put its precepts into practice. Yet we know that understanding and good intentions are worthless, unless rooted in Your graceful love. So we ask that the words of Scripture may also be not just signs on a page, but channels of grace into our hearts."
Today ended Bumblebee's first week of swim lessons. I love watching her splash in the water, and the joy she demonstrates is contagious. Just think about the sound of her laughter makes me smile.
This weekend I am looking forward to a Family Picnic with my Moms' Prayer Group!
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, join Jennifer at Conversion Diary.
