1. I cannot believe it is Friday, this week has flown by, and frankly it has been a tough week for me. I am praying for discernment. What is God calling me to do? I would like to share a song I really enjoy about following God's calling for your life.
2.Today, the weather is going to be in the 70s, I have opened all the windows and I can hear the birds chirping...Come on, spring! Today is the start of the Great Backyard Bird Count. Check it out, there are downloadable instructions to follow. I thought it would be a great science projects for my girls.
3.Speaking of spring, Rick and the girls started their tomato seeds this week. In the sunny Southern window, 30 peat cups sit. The girls check them every morning waiting for a little green sprout to appear. If you are interested in gardening this spring, check out The Bayou Gardener.
4. Yesterday marked the end of Lunar New Year, on Saturday our local Chinese Adoption organization will have their big celebration. It should be a lot of fun. Tonight, we will be celebrating our own version of the Lantern Festival with our friends. We will have lanterns with glow sticks, a bonfire and a lot of good Chinese food. I thought I would do a Cantonese theme for the food, since Ladybug is from the province of Guang Dong. The Chinese name for Canton is Guang Dong. On the menu? Cantonese spring rolls, Sweet and Sour Pork, White Cut Chicken, Stir-Fried Baby Bok, and Jasmine Rice.
5. Tomorrow, is also our first Girl Scout cookie booth. My husband is busy with a Knight of Columbus caucaus so it should be interesting having Bumblebee, the three year old, with us at the cookie booth. Fortunatley, it is only for two hours.
6. I know I promised to have the book review of St. Therese's The Story of A Soul yesterday, but alas it did not happen. Next week, I promise!
