Being All Souls Day, I thinking of my Mom and my Dad, who are both deceased. My most fond memories of my Mom are not the gifts she bought me, or the activities she took me to, but the warm, comfort of her lap. I remember the pale blue quilted robe she wore, the smell of White Shoulders, and the softness of her hands. I loved her reading to me, especially fairy tales.
Wednesday is usually a very busy day around these parts. In the morning, Bumblebee has her once a week Fine Arts class, and I take that time in the morning to clean my friend's house. Then we run errands, go grocery shopping, etc., etc., However, today was different.
On the way to school, Bumblebee started coughing and threw up all over herself and the car seat. So, it was back home for comfort and clean-up. Fortunately, Daddy came to the rescue and took the car seat to be professionally cleaned.
For the past week, we have been passing around a nasty cold in our family, and it has settled in Bumblebee and my lungs. As I sat with her in my lap freshly bathed and clothed, she looked at me and said, "Mommy, can we relax today?"
"Yes, honey, let's read a book."
I hope that both of you begin to feel better in a speedy fashion.
Let me know if I can do anything to help.

How sweet! I hope you all feel better soon, in the meantime, there is no better medicine than love from Mommy!!! Aslo, try rubbing Vicks vapor rub on her (and your feet) and put on some old socks. If they do not sell that anymore, try some Burt's Bees hand salve instead. It smells the same, just not as strong.

Vicks Vapor Rub? Now, that brings back a flood of memories too, Steph. My Mom used to rub it on our neck and then fashion a bandana out of wash cloth to cover it.
Peace be with you,
Mary

wow I so remember those days, in fact little Lily who I do day care with 'lost' it in my car and it brought back so much of the years of children and all the 'not so fun' moments.
hope you are feeling better and resting... it is ok to relax and do nothing.
